Thomas Balle Kristensen is the CEO of Aarhus University Hospital, one of Europe’s leading healthcare institutions, engaging with over 1.3 million patients annually across 53 clinical departments. Since 2018, he has held the position of CEO at the Central Jutland Hospital Unit, which includes the regional hospitals in Viborg, Silkeborg, Hammel, and Skive. Prior to that, he led the Prehospital Unit, responsible for emergency preparedness, ambulance services, and medical vehicles in the region. His earlier career includes several senior management roles at Aarhus University Hospital and Horsens Regional Hospital. Kristensen is recognized for his deep understanding of the Danish healthcare system and of Aarhus University Hospital itself and has more than 16 years of leadership experience.
