Rasmus Møgelvang

Chief Executive Officer, Rigshospitalet

Rasmus Møgelvang is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rigshospitalet, a highly specialised hospital in Copenhagen.

Rasmus is a physician and a medical specialist in cardiology, and he has previously worked as a consultant at the Department of Cardiology at Rigshospitalet. In 2009, he earned his PhD at the University of Copenhagen, and he was then attached to the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences as a research associate professor. In 2018, he became a professor in cardiology at the University of Southern Denmark.

Rasmus moved from the clinic to management in 2019, when he was appointed as the Centre Director of the Heart Centre at Rigshospitalet. In 2021, he was appointed as the Deputy Chief Executive of the hospital. He took over as Chief Executive on January 1st, 2023.

Rasmus is a member of the national Life Science Advisory Board, that is established by the Danish government. He has initiated the new Nordic University Hospital Alliance with CEOs from the university hospitals of the Nordic capitals, and he has co-initiated the recent establishment of the Technical University Hospital, a cooperation between the Danish Technical University and the hospitals in Eastern Denmark.

On October 8 at Rigshospitalet, Rasmus will say welcome, serve as co-chair at the roundtable discussion 3: Boosting the Uptake of Medical Technologies and Healthcare Solutions, and take part in the panel discussion From Ambition to Impact: Strengthening Europe Through Life Science
