Lars Gaardhøj is Chairman of the Capital Region of Denmark.

Gaardhøj is responsible for the overarching leadership and development of the Capital Region. He has extensive professional experience with public sector governance and policy implementation, previously working as an organisational consultant at the Workers’ Information Association in Denmark, focusing on labor market and educational development. Additionally, he is a member of the Social Democratic Party (Socialdemokratiet) and has served as Chairman of the Regional Council since August 2021.

Gaardhøj is also Chairman of the Regional Wage and Tariff Board, and Chairman of the Wage and Practice Committee. He holds an educational background in contemporary history from University of Southern Denmark.
