David Dreyer Lassen is rector at University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
David is a professor of economics and previously served as Prorector for Research and Innovation at the university from 2021 to 2025. He has held several leadership roles, including Chair of the Independent Research Fund Denmark, and founding Director of the Copenhagen Center for Social Data Science (SODAS).
He holds a PhD and MSc in Economics from the University of Copenhagen, and his research focuses on political economy and the use of digital data in social science. As rector, Lassen emphasises the university’s role in advancing world-class research, education, and societal impact.
On October 8 at Rigshospitalet, David will co-chair at the roundtable discussion 2: Stimulating innovation in the European Life Sciences and he will also take part in the Panel Discussion Turbocharging the European Ecosystem in Life Sciences – Innovation District Europe.
